Job Purpose The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government have two (2) opportunities for competent individuals to supervise the maintenance and building of roads.

Minimum Requirements Grade 10 (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years semi-skilled manual experience; A valid (Code EC) driving licence with professional drivers permit (PDP).

Key Performance Areas Supervise the maintenance and building of roads; Inspect work, supervise and train workers; Handle and maintain machines and aids which are used for roads maintenance work and construction work; Plan and supervise maintenance and construction of roads, premises and building; Repair equipment in and to buildings, premises and roads; Undertake the safeguarding of work areas and construction machines in terms of the Health and Safety Act; Discipline subordinates and apply proper labour relations.

Competencies Good understanding of the maintenance and repair of defects on roads and within road reserves; Conflict and diversity management; Skills in the following: Communication (verbal and written); Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Ability to work in a team; Self-motivated.

Remuneration R 201 093 - R 236 877 per annum (Salary Level 4)

Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance,pension-fund contributions, etc)are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
