Job Purpose

• The AIDE ENGINEERING is responsible to provide discipline specific services and support to Artisans within the assigned business area.

Minimum Required Qualification:

• Grade 10 or equivalent NQF 2 qualification

• Passed approved discipline specific training modules.

The Appointee should:

• At least 1 years’ experience in an engineering environment

• Medically fit to work in the specific business area.

• Clear security screening record.

Advantageous Qualifications:

• N2 in Engineering studies.

• Electrical Artisan Trade Certificate

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Key Responsibilities

• The AIDE ENGINEERING is responsible to provide discipline specific services and support to Artisans within the assigned business area.

• Assist with maintenance, installation, and construction of workplace facilities to standards and specifications.

• Report all maintenance, installations, and constructions for inspection.

• Safe, correct, and effective application of equipment and machinery utilised during duties.

• Adhere to maintenance schedules.

• Attend to breakdowns.

• Escalate unresolved breakdowns or unsuccessful maintenance, installation, and constructions.

• Liaise with artisan or foreman for spares and equipment.

• Liaise with machinery operators to establish working capability of machinery.

• Performs end of shift procedures according to standards and procedures e.g. cleans tools and working area, stores tools and locks up.

• Completion of relevant documentation.

• Report completed jobs to the relevant stakeholders.

• Ensure that any maintenance and construction problem that is encountered is reported even if outside immediate area of responsibility.

• Report all inconsistencies and obstacles.

• Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.

• Ensure effective two-way communications with team members.

• Support and promote a positive work environment.

• Adhering to cost saving and cash conservation initiatives.

• Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment.

• Align to international responsible mining principles.

• SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative.

• Adhere to all legal and safety requirements, including FRPs.

• Conduct all work according to required standards, specifications and training.

• Attend SHE meetings as and when required.

• Ensure that the prescribed safety equipment is always worn and/or used.

• Ensure that all jobs are done to the required standard.

• Inspection of working environments.

• Recognize hazards impacting on all jobs and participate in on the job risk assessment.

• Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.

• Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence.
