Bridge Engineer - Consulting Industry

Job Summary

RPO Recruitment's client, a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm in Johannesburg is seeking a technically strong and motivated professional to join its team, contributing to the planning, design, assessment and rehabilitation of bridges and related infrastructure.

This role offers the opportunity to lead engineering assignments, work alongside multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc degree in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent relevant engineering qualification.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng.
• For Pr Eng applicants: at least 5 years of bridge and culvert design experience.
• For Pr Tech Eng applicants: at least 10 years of bridge and culvert experience, including relevant design exposure within the last 20 years.
• Proven technical expertise in bridge design, structural assessments, inspections and rehabilitation.
• Sound knowledge of South African bridge design standards, engineering codes and specifications.
• Experience with structural engineering software.
• Exposure to Revit, Softisk, Prokon and AutoCAD will be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and client engagement.
• The ability to provide technical direction and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
