Senior Foreman (Structures) - Construction Industry

Job Summary

RPO Recruitment’s client, an established building contractor in Cape Town is looking for experienced Senior Foremen – Structures to oversee structural construction activities on large-scale building projects.

The ideal candidates will have extensive hands-on experience in concrete construction and wet trades, together with the ability to coordinate site teams and supervise other foremen on complex projects, including multi-storey buildings and large-footprint warehouse developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate structural works, including concrete and associated wet trades.
• Manage and allocate site labour, equipment and materials.
• Oversee teams of foremen and ensure construction activities are properly coordinated.
• Monitor productivity, workmanship and adherence to construction programmes.
• Ensure structural work is completed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Site Agents and other project personnel.
• Enforce health and safety requirements and maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Identify and resolve site-related challenges to keep construction activities on schedule.

Requirements

• Relevant trade test qualification.
• At least 15 years’ experience in building construction.
• Strong background in concrete works, structural construction and wet trades.
• Experience with Tier 1 construction contractors.
• Proven exposure to multi-storey buildings, warehouses and large-scale developments.
• Previous experience supervising teams of foremen and coordinating substantial site operations.
• Strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
